The whole globe is turning to India for their health needs – due to the gaining popularity and proper propagation of the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda!
It may be very familiar to most people in the name of the well-known Panchakarma. But is Panchakarma all about Ayurvedic treatments? Let’s have a look into the Concept of Treatment in Ayurveda.
Whenever the equilibrium of Doshas gets disturbed, mild symptoms occur. If this disequilibrium is out of proportion, then it gets expressed as a disease.
For bringing back this equilibrium into normalcy, we have two main modalities – Shodhana (Purification/Detox) and Shamana (Pacifying with medicines).
Shodhana is what we call by the name “Panchakarma – The five purifying measures)” [Pancha~five ; Karma~Action/Treatment]. These are as follows:-
- Vamana – Therapeutic emesis.
- Virechanam – Therapeutic purgation.
- Vasthy – Therapeutic enema.
- Nasya – Nasal medicine installation.
- Raktamokshana – Therapeutic bloodletting.
But even more important in Panchakarma is the Purvakarma (Pre-Panchakarma preparation), which requires close monitoring of the individual for particular signs denoting various stages of Dosha transformations. Proper attainment of the desired stage in Purvakarma is very much necessary for the successful outcome of Panchakarma!
Shamana refers to usage of internal and external medicines in order to pacify the imbalanced Doshas. In certain situations, oleation therapies like various kinds of massages and the sudation techniques like Podikizhi, Elakizhi, Njavarakizhi, and so on May also be considered under the heading of Shamana.
Authentic Ayurvedic line of management includes detailed examination of the person by a Doctor who specialises in Ayurveda and deciding a care plan ideal for individual requirements. Administration of Panchakarma requires extreme medical supervision by a well versed Team who are capable of managing every situation in the most suitable manner.

KNOW YOUR VIKRUTHY, KNOW YOUR FOOD
The ancient science of Ayurveda deals with every aspect of a human being’s life from birth to death. This science aims to preserve health by teaching us certain etiquettes to follow in our daily routine, seasonal routines, and also morals as social beings.
Ayurveda also advises on treatment methods to tackle diseases in their very early stages. Health issues are explained in classical texts in great detail, describing how to recognize them in their prodromal stages, understand the derangement of doshas/bioenergies (Vatha, Pitha, and Kapha) at the earliest, and prevent disease manifestation. It also outlines treatments after disease manifestation.
Talking about dosha derangement or imbalance brings the word “Vikruthy” into the spotlight. “Vikruthy” refers to the set of imbalances of the three doshas/bioenergies (Vatha, Pitha, and Kapha) that occur in our bodies, subsequently leading to diseases.
“Swabhavasya vaiparithyam, Vyadhy ”
In Ayurveda, Vikruthy is defined as an adverse state of normalcy, or disease. That is, when our body exhibits features opposite to a natural healthy condition, we should understand that the doshas are deranged and are in a state of Vikruthy. “Vikruthy” – the word can be explained as: “Vi – after; Kruthy – creation” which means, Vikruthy happens after creation.
On the contrary, the body constitution known as “Prakruthy” is pre-formed in a human being even before birth or it is predetermined. “Prakruthy”– the word can be explained as: “Prak – before; Kruthy – creation”. Thus, Prakruthy is the basic body nature that occurs naturally, whereas Vikruthy is the imbalance of doshas that can happen at any time in any stage of life due to external causative factors.
The aim of Ayurvedic treatment is to bring these deranged doshas back into balance, for which various treatment methodologies along with appropriate diet and regimen are advocated. At Park am See Ayurveda cure in Germany, our expert medical team primarily focuses on discovering Vikruthy during the first consultation by following the three classical methods of disease detection: that are
- Darsana- observation
- Sparsana – examination
- Prasna- interrogation and the Vikruthy is found out by following the Ashtasthana pareeksha (8 ways of examination).
We believe in initially correcting the Vikruthy of doshas through appropriate treatment and diet, followed by providing insight into how to lead a healthy life later, along with information on Prakruthy – body constitution (usually revealed during the last days of the stay), as a beneficial approach to maximize the benefits of this divine science for leading a healthy and peaceful life.
Ayurveda Massage: Restoring Balance and Vitality
At the end of the day, people are always tired and wish to rest from work. It doesn’t matter whether you are working behind the desk whole day or moving from one place to another because the pressure can equally affect your muscles as well as general body condition. It is because of these stress factors that vatha is aggravated in Ayurvedic medicine leading to manifestation of various physical and physiological conditions on the body. When left unattended to, these could later change into different diseases gradually. With these in mind, massage becomes necessary as a daily regimen in Ayurveda which offers profound relief and revitalization.
Ayurveda massages utilize medicated herbal oils known for their therapeutic properties. These oils penetrate the skin, reaching deep tissues (Dhatus) to facilitate healing and rejuvenation.
Types of Ayurveda Massages
- Abhyanga: The cornerstone of Ayurveda massages, Abhyanga involves full-body massage with warm herbal oils to enhance energy flow and overall well-being.
- Udvartana or Powder Massage: Uses herbal powders to exfoliate and detoxify, ideal for removing toxins and promoting skin health.
Experience the benefits of Abhyanga at home by self-massage. You may opt for warm Ayurvedic massage oil or sesame oil and apply it softly all over your body starting from the scalp [prefer coconut oil for the scalp] and down to the feet while using circular movements at the scalp, ears, temples, and forehead then shift to the neck, shoulders, long strokes on arms to improve blood circulation.Massage the chest, abdomen, thighs, calves, and feet with care, allowing the oil to absorb for about 30 minutes before bathing in warm water.
Benefits of massage:
- Stress Relief: Ayurveda massage decreases your stress levels and relieves muscle tension by loosening your muscles and calming down your central nervous system.
- Improved Circulation: Warm herbal oil when applied improves blood flow thereby enhancing oxygen supply and nutrients delivery to different body parts.
- Skin and Muscle Health: Regular massages strengthen the skin, making it healthier, and provide relief from muscular tightness, aiding in better sleep.
- Holistic Healing: Ayurveda massages are integral to various Ayurveda therapies, such as Panchakarma, offering comprehensive benefits beyond mere relaxation.
Choosing Ayurveda Oils
To ensure powerful massage treatment, it is important to use Ayurveda Thailam that contains organic herbs and extracts. Depending on an individual’s physical condition or ailment, different oils may be applied. Keram oils that are sourced from coconuts are usually the most preferred option for hair, whereas Sesame oils can be used for body massaging in general.
It is necessary to understand that Ayurvedic oils are better chosen for treatment than luxury purposes or pleasurable sensations because they help in alleviation of knee pains, skin troubles and general improvement of health. Embrace this ancient practice regularly to experience lasting relief and profound rejuvenation.

Today, more than ever before, there is a need for holistic well-being and inner harmony in a fast-moving world. Ayurvedic retreats are havens that provide such individuals with the opportunity to restore harmony and revive their bodies, spirits and souls. These retreats stress on preventive care and holistic healing not just a short-term vacation.
The Essence of Ayurveda
According to Ayurveda, the balance of mind, body, and spirit leads to true health. It emphasizes person centric treatment based on individual constitution called doshas-Vata,Pitta,Kapha. Through understanding and balancing these doshas, Ayurveda seeks to prevent diseases while promoting optimal health.

Mind And Ayurveda
Manasastu chintyam artha: The ancient and foremost teacher of Ayurveda, Charaka Acharya refers to the mind as that which thinks. Mind is the tool which can know and analyze its objective.
In Ayurveda, the mind is considered as the sixth sense, superior to the five sense organs. In some of the Ayurveda treatises, the mind is also referred to as different functions of the brain. Because of its peculiar role in controlling different sensory (knowing) and motor (commanding) functions, the mind has an important role in preventing diseases and to get cured.
Mind develops in one’s life just like any organs of the body. It also gets diseases due to genetic causes, external causes and by the mixture of these. Different types of psychosis conditions, neurosis conditions, personality disorders, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, phobias, dementia etc. are coming under the heading “mental disorders” or the diseases related to mind.
Stress is another major factor which disturbs mental health. Due to many reasons like – behavioral, familial, social, financial and occupational factors people get over stressed. It is a type of mind hyperactivity. Stress can affect the rhythm of daily activities. People can lose interest in drinking, eating, sleeping like essential body functions because of stress. It will trigger hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, obesity like lifestyle disorders which are the basis of serious life threatening health problems. Sometimes the stress can lead to developing some unhealthy habits like smoking, alcoholism and drug use.
Spending much time before the screen makes the mind hyper alert, deteriorating its health. People get less active physically when they immerse themselves in computers and mobile phones. Not only at work, but also in their leisure time, people today prefer the screen. This will create damages to the mind thereby to the body similar to stress, which can be effectively balanced through practices and therapies at an Ayurveda Center.
For every individual, the mind is their inner child who needs careful attention and care. It needs proper nourishment, a calm atmosphere and healthy relationships for disease free development. At Park am See Nattika Ayurveda we can support your inner self. Effective communication with our expert Doctors and tailor made treatment plan can target your mental strains. Find peace, relaxation and joie de vivre at the retreat Park am See, Nattika Ayurveda:
My time at Park am See, Nattika Ayurveda was a wonderful, relaxing time with lots of new experiences and lovely people.
Surrounded by wonderful nature, blossoming trees, green meadows and the rising sun, I was able to start my day every morning on the way to the yoga hall. The mornings in the park are particularly magical, the lake is still in deep calm, the rising sun makes the smooth surface of the water glisten and the mist floats over the fields covered in hoarfrost, where I have sometimes encountered deer or hares.
For two weeks, I was lucky enough to be able to teach here as a guest yoga teacher in the atmospheric, light-flooded and spacious yoga hall. There is space for relaxation here, space for guests to arrive in the here and now, on the mat and with themselves.
Individual yoga, your path to your center:
With each day I was able to observe how the guests blossomed more and more, finding their peace, serenity and friends. It was a wonderful experience to be able to support them with meditations, gentle wellness yoga or the vitalizing, progressive yoga classes. It was particularly important to me to customize the classes so that all guests felt at home, because whether you are at the beginning of your yoga path or already more advanced, yoga is your path to the unity of body, mind and soul.
In the pranayama classes, we practiced breathing techniques together that help to let go of everything that no longer serves us: such as tension, anger or stress, and techniques that help to clear the mind, calm the nervous system and thus promote relaxation and peaceful sleep.
The magic of Ayurveda:
Away from the yoga hall, it is of course above all the Ayurvedic offerings that make this hotel a healing and special experience. I found the Ayurveda doctors to be particularly empathetic, they take a lot of time for their guests, take all health aspects seriously and develop an individual treatment plan with herbal-based medicine. Of course, the authentic Ayurvedic food, which is a real culinary highlight, and the relaxing massage therapies from Indian therapists are specially tailored to the needs of the guests.
It is a place of peace and relaxation, where people have the opportunity to pause, let go of everything and find their way back to themselves.
In addition to what the Ayurveda hotel has to offer, I found the people I was able to meet particularly remarkable. The hotel staff always have a smile on their faces, greet their guests with warmth and make wishes come true wherever possible.
But the guests were also very special people to me, of course you can find peace and quiet on your own, but if you are looking for company, you can find inspiring conversations over the delicious Ayurvedic meals or walks together. I am very grateful that I was able to get to know the people here in a deep way. One of my favorite memories is chanting mantras together in front of the crackling campfire on the shores of beautiful Lake Tollensesee.
I am still drawing on my time in the park by the lake and am deeply grateful for all the experiences, the peace and relaxation and look forward to returning to this oasis of relaxation one day.
